This decides whether we show room air purifiers, HVAC filters, or both.

What to watch for

HEPA, CADR, and MERV in plain English

HEPA usually matters for portable room air purifiers because it targets small airborne particles like dust, pollen, and dander.

CADR helps you match a purifier to the size of your room. A higher CADR can serve a larger space or clean air faster.

MERV applies to HVAC/furnace filters. Higher MERV can catch smaller particles, but very high-MERV filters may restrict airflow in some systems.

Important safety note

Air cleaners can reduce airborne particles, but they do not fix the source of a problem. Mold growth, water leaks, heavy smoke exposure, and HVAC issues may require cleanup, ventilation, or a qualified professional.
